A three bedroom
detached stone house with garden for sale near
Ferreira do Zêzere in
central Portugal. The house, which is set over two floors, retains
many original features including stone window and door surrounds.
The property, which is set on a plot measuring 1,280 square metres,
is connected to both mains water and electricity.
The property is set over two floors
with the ground floor having been traditionally used as a cafe and
adega. The main entrance to the property leads into what was
used as a cafe. This room could be converted very easily into a
living room and has a tiled floor and wooden beamed ceiling. The
room still has built in furniture (shelving and cabinetry) from it's
days being run as a cafe. Off this room there is a kitchen, which
also has a tiled floor. There is a range of built in base and eye
level wooden units with granite work surface. There is a open fire
with chimney to one corner of the kitchen. There is also one bedroom
and a bathroom to the ground floor. The bathroom is partially tiled
and has a bath with shower above, toilet, bidet and pedestal sink.
There is an internal staircase leading
to the first floor where there are three bedrooms, all of which have
wooden floors and ceilings, as well as a central living room also
with wooden floor and ceiling. This room has an exterior access door
leading out to a veranda at the side of the house.
The property has a single storey garage
adjacent to the house, in front of which there is a gated driveway.
The property also has a variety of outbuildings and storage barns of
varying sizes. One of these outbuildings has a WC.
The property is in a basically
habitable condition though would benefit from modernisation works
being carried out. The property comes with 1,280 square metres of
land, all of which is flat. There are two wells on the property and
a large variety of mature shrubs, plants and fruit trees.
The property is situated in a small
hamlet close to the village of Chãos
in central Portugal. Chãos has several cafe bars, a butchers, bakery,
mini-market and monthly vegetable market. The property does have
neighbouring houses around, though do not overlook the house.
The town of
Ferreira do Zêzere, which is
the district capital, is around 17 kilometres from the property.
Ferreira do Zêzere has several supermarkets, banks, schools, bus
station, shops, builders' merchants, restaurants and bars. The larger,
historic town of
Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO world heritage
listed
Convento do Cristo, is approximately 15-20 minutes drive from Chãos.
Tomar is a popular town and has all modern
day amenities including supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants,
library, schools, university, cinema, weekly market and a
hospital.
The property is easy to locate and has good
access links to the IC3 Tomar to Coimbra road. The closest airport to the property is located at
Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours' by car. |
