A traditional style five bedroom
detached village house in need of renovation work for sale close to Tomar,
central Portugal. The property, which is set over two floors, is
connected to both mains water and electricity though does need a
good deal of renovation work carrying out.
The house, which has
been constructed in stone, then rendered, has stone window and door
surrounds. The windows are
wooden framed single glazed units and would need replacing and the
exterior doors are metal.
The ground floor
accommodation has been used for storage purposes, but could with
work, be converted into additional living accommodation relatively
easily. The ground floor has a dirt floor and is accessed via a
double opening metal door and leads into a long, but wide corridor
which runs the depth of the building. Off this corridor there are
three rooms of more or less equal size. Each of these rooms has a
dirt floor and wooden beamed ceiling. There is a wooden staircase
which leads to the first floor accommodation within an additional
small room.
The first floor
accommodation can also be accessed via an external accessed door to
the front. This access leads to a further wooden staircase, which
opens out into a hallway with a wooden floor and ceiling. There are
five bedrooms to this floor, all of which have wooden floors and
ceilings. There is also a bathroom which has a bath, toilet and
pedestal sink. However all of these rooms do need a good deal of
renovation work carrying out.
At the rear of the
building there are a further network of rooms which house the
property's kitchen, a large living room and a second wash room. The
kitchen has a concrete floor and a traditional style corner
fireplace. There is a stainless steel sink and drainer with marble
work surface. The living room also has a concrete floor and a
traditional style wooden ceiling.
The property has a
small walled patio garden where there are are single storey kennels.
These kennels could be demolished to provide more outside space
quite easily.
The property is situated in the heart
of the village of Alviobeira, which has several cafe bars, and is
close to the historic town of
Tomar in Central
Portugal. Tomar, which has supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants,
bus and train stations, art galleries, cinema, castle and churches
is around ten minutes drive from the property.
The property is easily accessed from
the IC3 Tomar to Coimbra road and is approximately one and a quarter
hours' from the closest airport at
Lisbon. Lisbon airport has
a variety of low cost airlines which operate regular flights into
and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries. |
