There is also an internal, double opening wooden door which leads through to the cottage's garage. The garage adjoins the cottage and has a concrete floor. The property is located on the outskirts of the village of Areias in Central Portugal. The village of Areias has several cafes bars, a mini-market and post office.

The historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is approximately ten to 15 minutes drive by car. Tomar is a popular bustling town with several supermarkets, shops, boutiques, cinema, builders merchants, schools, university, art galleries, municipal swimming pools and sports centres. Tomar hosts a weekly market every Friday which is popular with both locals and tourists alike.

The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours' drive by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by several low cost airlines which operate flights into and out of the United Kingdom.
