A single storey, traditional detached cottage in need of renovation for sale in the village of Assentiz in Central Portugal.

The cottage, which is connected to mains electricity and water, does require modernisation and updating, but has additional storage buildings. The total area of construction for the cottage and the outbuildings measures 262 square metres.

The cottage is set on a plot measuring 630 square metres and there are some mature fruit trees as well as shrubs.

The cottage was built in 1930 and is in a reasonable state of repair for it's age. The cottage has two fronts to a road within the village and there is a walled garden to the front facade. To the rear of the cottage there is a good sized garden with some mature fruit trees including fig, Persimmons, olive and oranges. There is also a well with a water storage tank on the land.

The cottage has been constructed in stone and has 50 centimetre thick exterior walls. The window and door surrounds are stone and the exterior doors are aluminium framed. The windows are wooden framed and there are some internal wooden shutters.

The layout of the cottage is typical for it's age. The main entrance door leads directly into a living room, which has a wooden floor and wooden ceiling. Off this living room there are two bedrooms, both with wooden floors and ceilings. To the rear of the cottage there is a rustic kitchen and a small bathroom. Both of these rooms do require renovation and modernisation works. The bathroom has a toilet, bidet and pedestal sink installed.

At the rear of the cottage there is a large storage shed, which is accessed from the exterior. This storage shed has a dirt floor and a wooden beamed roof and could be converted to provide more living accommodation if required. There is a large bread oven inside this storage building.

The cottage is situated in the heart of the village of Assentiz in central Portugal. There are neighbouring properties nearby, all of which have been restored. There are several cafes and a mini-market within the village of Assentiz and the larger town of Torres Novas is approximately 15 kilometres away. 

Torres Novas has supermarkets, shops, cafes bars, restaurants, a castle, swimming pool, health centre, schools and post offices as well as a historic centre with a medieval castle.

The historic town of Tomar, which is home to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo constructed by the Knight Templars, is approximately 12 kilometres from the land. Tomar has a variety of shops, supermarkets, builders' merchants, architects, schools and bus and train station.

The land is easy to access and to locate. It is approximately one and a quarter hours' from the closest airport, which is at Lisbon. Lisbon airport is accessed by several low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom.
