Casa do Lago is set in the quiet village of Alverangel, overlooking the Castelo do Bode lake, in central Portugal and offers either a three bedroom apartment or one bedroom apartment to relax in and explore the scenic and historic area.

Alverangel is a small village with a cafe and a top class restaurant called Sabor de Pedra where you can eat out on the terrace which overlooks Castelo de Bode lake. Both are about five minutes walk away. Casa do Lago is a short drive to the world heritage town of Tomar where you can explore the Knights Templar castle or the Convent De Cristo or even both. You can stand on the bridge and watch the river weave its way through the town centre. You can shop at the two large supermarkets for your groceries or visit the Friday market where you can buy anything from a saucepan to a peacock and everything else in between.

 

3 Bed Apartment

Our three bedroom apartment is newly constructed and provides spacious living accommodation over one floor  around 166 square metres or 1,650 square feet). Roughly the same size as a large 4 bedroom detached house in the UK. The apartment has a private living room with a 42" LCD television with free view channels; a fully fitted kitchen with ample crockery, cooking utensils, cutlery, a table and chairs that can seat six people and balcony furniture. There is also a 32" LCD television is also located in the kitchen.

 

The master bedroom has a double bed with an en-suite bathroom and built in wardrobes and a 32" LCD television. The second and third bedrooms also have double beds and built in wardrobes. Each of the bedrooms have patio sliding doors and all the beds are king-size. There is a family bathroom which comprises of a bath with shower above, wash basin, toilet and bidet.

The views from the balcony are breathtaking and the swimming pool area (Pool 10 x 5 metre) has ample seating as does the BBQ area.

 

1 Bed Apartment

This splendid brand new one bedroom apartment has living accommodation of approximately 90 square metres (885 square feet). The apartment is situated on the second floor of the building and has a lounge area, a 32" LCD television with free view channels; a fully fitted kitchen with ample crockery, cooking utensils, cutlery, oven, grill, dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle, table and chairs, balcony furniture; a king-size double bed, a walk in wardrobe and a bathroom comprising of a shower, wash basin, toilet and bidet. The views from the balcony are breathtaking and the swimming pool area (Pool 10 x 5 metre) has ample seating as does the BBQ area.

 

Each of the apartments has stunning views of the Castelo do Bode lake where you can Jet Ski, Fish, Canoe, hire a speedboat or take a trip on the restaurant ship and while away the hours or visit the multitude of eateries along it's banks where you can eat for very little or dine in style.

 

The three bedroom apartment has a private terrace with ample furniture and the one bedroom apartment has a private balcony and ample furniture. The private pool is 10 x 5 metres but is not heated and there is ample pool and BBQ furniture for you to relax and take in the rays.

 

Castelo do Bode lake is 66 kilometre long reservoir and provides the water supply for Lisbon 125 kilometres away. You can water ski, fish, jet ski, hire speedboats or take a trip on the restaurant boat (ship really) dining and whiling away the hours on the lake. The lake has a multitude of restaurants and cafe bars along its banks where you can dine for very little or splash out and enjoy the Portuguese cuisine in all its glory. Within a short walk of Casa do Lago less than five minutes you could be eating at Sabor de Pedra a stunning location where you can sit on the terrace and have a lavish meal overlooking the lake or walk the other way and a cafe meal awaits you.

The nearest beaches are at Peniche and Nazare and are both about 70 miles away. The driving times are about 75 minutes for each. They are both well worth a visit and are on the Atlantic coastline.  If you are a keen golfer then there is an 18 hole course only 45 minutes drive from Casa do Lago.

 

The closest airport to Casa do Lago is situated at Lisbon, which is approximately one hour 10 minutes drive. TAP Airlines fly from London Heathrow, Birmingham and Edinburgh; BMI Baby fly from Manchester; BA fly from London Heathrow; Easyjet from fly from Liverpool, Luton, Bristol, Gatwick, Paris CGD, Berlin, Basel-Mulhouse, Geneva, Milan (Malpensa), Lyon and Madrid. App. 75 miles

It is also possible to reach Casa do Lago from Porto airport, which is approximately two and a half hours away. Ryanair fly from Liverpool, Birmingham, Bristol, Stansted, Eindhoven, Brussels (Charlekoi), Frankfurt – Hann, Paris – Beauvais, Karlsruhe – Baden, Tours, Basel, Milan – Bergano, St.Etienne
