A sympathetically restored, elegant townhouse situated in close to the centre of Sintra in Portugal available for short term breaks and holiday accommodation.

 

The property, which is set over three floors, was commissioned for construction by the English O’Neill family in 1820 and features Frescos by the Italian painter Manini, which adorn the interiors. Guests can enjoy the lush gardens while an easy walk from the heart of the UNESCO listed city of Sintra, a place filled with architectural splendours and exotic gardens to explore.

 

The property offers spacious, comfortable accommodation providing a flavour of bygone times. The property is located in the historical centre of Sintra and benefits from one allocated parking space. The property, which is set over three floors, is not recommended for persons with young children or the infirm due to the various staircases and levels within the interior.

 

The ground floor accommodation comprises a light and airy living room, fitted with air conditioning, a double bedroom and a partially tiled bathroom with shower. The lower ground floor has two further bedrooms, one double and one single, as well as a bathroom with bath with shower above, dining room and kitchen. The first floor has a further double bedroom with a bathroom and air conditioning. There is an independent apartment to the first lower ground floor which contains a double bedroom, shower room with toilet, open plan living and dining room and a kitchenette. Within the garden there is a 'glass house', utilised as a winter living room, complete with fire place, kitchenette, laundry and toilet.

 

The property is an easy walk into the centre of Sintra, which sits atop the Lisbon coast and is synonymous with the romantic era of Portugal. Sintra was a favourite retreat for Portuguese royals and foreign aristocrats and there is a wealth of estates, open to the public, to explore as well as a number of UNESCO listed palaces and monuments.

 

Sintra has a variety of restaurants and bars, offering a excellent cuisine. Further a field, only 15 minutes by car, you will find the sandy expansive beaches of the Atlantic coast, the elegant and cosmopolitan resorts of Cascais and Estoril, and further still, the beautiful city of Lisbon with its many attractions for both young and old.

 

The property is situated three kilometres from the historic heart of Sintra and is only 15 kilometres from the Atlantic beaches of Cascais. The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon's Portela airport, which is approximately 27 kilometres by car.
