There
are a variety of bugs, insects, creatures and critters in
Portugal,
which if you have been living in a more northern European country,
you will not be familiar with. These insects, creatures
and critters are not to be feared, but treat with
caution due to our impingement on their natural
habitats and their natural, sometimes deadly defences.
Some
insects, reptiles and animals cause undue suffering for a human and pets if you are not familiar with them.
Most of
these subjects though are harmless and provide great study subjects
for the amateur photographer, though there others should
be provided the privacy their poison and/or ferocity
entails and here at
Gekkoportugal
we will endeavour to provide photographs and information
on a variety of species and breeds so even the most
entomophobic amongst us will know what to what out for
in the countryside.
However please be aware photographs
will depend upon visitations and
sitings of such insects, critters and creatures and our ability to photograph them.
As well as listing the dangerous insects, reptiles and
mammals within the boundaries of Portugal we will
provide information on how to deal
with any or all dangerous species should you encounter
any or all of them on your travels. |
