Each year there is a
theme and this year (2011) it is the Animal Kingdom, so
expect to see some life sized beasts prowling across the
sands. Sand artists from around the world will sculpt
more than 35 tonnes of sand into a variety of enormous
statues across an area measuring 15,000 square metres.
Unlike other years the
International
Sand Sculpting Festival in 2011 will
be open to the public from 9th April allowing visitors
to watch the actual process involved in creating these
lavish statues.
The festival, which is
open daily, runs until 15th October with tickets costing
4.50€ for children aged between 6 and 12 years; 8€ for
adults, under fives and over 65s are free. For more
