Portugal has a wealth of natural springs and fonts and many are recorded at the land registry. Some of the most famous springs became popular health resorts in the 20th century including Sintra, Estoril, Chaves and Caldas da Rainha.

However many private properties also have natural springs bubbling ground water to the surface and these can be a great source of H2O for your garden irrigation.
