Property Brief

A four bedroom detached house with self contained annex, garage, swimming pool and land for sale near Tomar, central Portugal. The house, which is connected to both mains water and electricity, also has a well for irrigating the land.

The property is fully double glazed and has stone window and door surrounds with traditional style exterior shutters. The house, which is set over one floor, is accessed via a gated driveway, which has been cobbled in traditional marble setts.

The main entrance to the house leads into a hallway, which has a tiled floor. Off this hallway, via a set of double opening, part glazed wooden doors, there is a spacious living room. The living room also has a tiled floor and is double aspect. The living room has a set of patio doors which lead out to a covered veranda at the front of the house. There is a corner stone open fireplace within the living room and a feature recessed display area.

The kitchen is located at the rear of the house and is accessed from the living room via a set of part glazed double opening wooden doors. The kitchen is also spacious and has a tiled floor. The kitchen is double aspect and has tiled walls and a good range of built in base and eye level wooden units. The work surfaces are marble and there is a double stainless steel sink and drainer, integrated low level electric oven, integral dishwasher and four ring ceramic hob. The kitchen is spacious and there is plenty of room for a good sized dining table to be situated. The kitchen also has an exterior access door which leads out to a covered veranda at the rear of the property.

The house has four bedrooms, all of which have tiled floors. Two of the bedrooms have built in wooden wardrobes. Annex

Adjacent to the garage and the house there is a further single storey annex. This annex is double glazed throughout and has traditional exterior shutters matching the house. The annex comprises an open plan kitchen living room, bedroom, hallway and bathroom. The flooring throughout the annex is tiled. The kitchen has some base and eye level built in units with marble work surface, space for a free-standing oven and fridge freezer and a breakfast bar.

 

The bathroom within the annex is fully tiled and has a shower, toilet, vanity basin with storage cupboard beneath and plumbing for a washing machine. The bedroom is access via the hallway off the kitchen.

 

To the rear of both the annex and garage there is a large patio area, paved in traditional marble setts. Here there is a good sized swimming pool. There is a covered dining area adjacent to annex, which has a tiled floor and a built in barbecue.

 

The garden immediately surrounding the house and annexes is walled and landscaped with mature palm trees, traditional marble setts paving and smaller shrubs. There is a vehicle access gate behind the garage which leads to the remainder of the property's land where there is a large amount of mature grape vines and fruit trees. The property has a well and water storage tank for irrigating the land.

 

The property is in good condition and although there are neighbouring houses either side, neither impede it's privacy. The property is situated in the small hamlet of Vale do Nora, which is only three minutes drive to the centre of the historic town of Tomar.

 

Tomar is a bustling market town with a variety of supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, banks, schools, sports centres, health centres, hospital, bus and train stations and many historic monuments including the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo.

 

The closest airport to the property is located at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a quarter hours' by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
