The villa and annexe are set 50 metres back from the newly tarmaced road, which leads up to the village of Portela, where there are three café Bars, an award winning Restaurant, and a newly refurbished village shop, selling basic groceries and fresh bread. It is a short drive from the beautiful Castelo do Bode lake and a few minutes to major roads leading to the North and South of Portugal.

Low cost airline, Easy Jet, now have a base at Lisbon Airport, which is a 60-75 minutes drive away and there are daily coach and train services to Lisbon from Tomar.
