The
Rio Lima (river
Lima) runs from the Talarino mountains of northern
Spain, through
Northern Portugal
and flows into the Atlantic Ocean at Viana do Castelo.
The
Rio Lima is 108
kilometres in length and a haven for wild and bird life.
The Roman bridge at
Ponte da Lima
was once the only safe crossing point across it's deep
and fast flowing waters for pilgrims following the
Santiago da Compostela trail. |
