Writing his first children's novel took 10 years to put on paper, with a little pushing from his wife and a lot of imagination, however James Fritscher, who writes under synonym Rudi James is now furiously working on a sequel.

Alex and the Realm People, published by the Book Guild, is James' first book and has been well received by both the projected audience of 8-12 year olds and their parents.

Despite several rejections from publishers early on, James persevered and chuckles he doesn't believe he had as many rejections as JK Rowling, the author of the phenomenally successfully Harry Potter trilogy.

Alex and the Realm People is aimed at the early teen market and is a delightful action / fantasy fiction.

James and his wife Agnes moved to central Portugal over three years ago. And since retiring has had more time to devote to writing. James hopes his sequel will be complete shortly.
