There are many opportunities for scuba diving sites in central Portugal especially along the Silver Coast (Costa da Prata) with a variety of sites offering different experiences - ships wrecks, reefs and deep sea diving. Even inland an hour from some of Portugal's top dive sites there is another, more unusual one at Castelo do Bode lake. Castelo do Bode is actually a man made reservoir, one which stretches 40 miles long. To construct it is was necessary to submerge six villages and it is now possible to visit these. Whether you are trained to expert level or wish to complete your PADI licence, Central Portugal has a wealth of sites for you to dive into. |
