A
partially renovated, two storey detached farmhouse with 10,000
square metres of land for sale close to Serta in central Portugal.
The house, which is connected to both mains water and electricity,
has been constructed in stone. The property is situated in a quiet
hamlet and measures 109 square metres of construction.
The property is in a relatively good condition though additional
modernisation works would be beneficial. The ground floor of the
farmhouse is currently being used for storage purposes, though could
be converted into additional living space quite easily. There are
two exterior doors to the ground floor and several windows.
The living accommodation is currently situated on the first floor,
which at road level appears as the ground floor. The main entrance
leads directly into a living room, which has a wooden floor and is
double aspect.
Off the living room, via a set of double opening traditional style
wooden doors, there is a hallway which runs the length of the
farmhouse. The hallway, which has a traditional wooden floor and
ceiling, provides access to two bedrooms, both of which have wooden
floors, ceilings and internal wooden shutters.
There is a bathroom, which has been recently renovated. The bathroom
is fully tiled and has a bath with shower above, toilet, bidet and
vanity basin with storage cupboard underneath.
The kitchen is situated at the opposite end of the farmhouse from
the living room and has also been renovated. The kitchen has a
traditional style open fireplace and exposed stone walls. There are
some base and eye level wooden units within the kitchen, which have
marble work surfaces. There are connections within the kitchen for a
gas oven, dishwasher and washing machine. There is an exterior
access door off the kitchen, which leads to a private terrace and a
summer kitchen with traditional fireplace.
Within the kitchen there is a hidden doorway leading to a wooden
staircase providing access to a large attic. The attic is currently
only used for storage purposes though could be converted into an
additional bedroom quite easily. The attic has exposed stone walls,
a wooden beam roof, which is in good order, and a gable end window.
Adjacent to the farmhouse there is a gated vehicle entrance and a
ruined stone building, which could be reconstructed into a garage if
needed.
The farmhouse has been restored preserving the traditional features
like wooden window beams, wooden floors and ceilings and exposed
stone walls in the kitchen. The windows are traditional painted iron
single glazed with painted iron interior shutters.
The farmhouse is situated a plot measuring 10,000 square metres. The
land is fertile and relatively flat and has many mature olive trees
as well as a small pine tree forest. The property has a borehole and
three wells, ideal for someone looking to be self sufficient.
The property is easy to access and is only around two kilometres
from the IC8 dual carriageway. The closest town to the property is
situated at Serta, which is around eight kilometres by car. Sertã
has several supermarkets, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, health
centre, schools, banks, pharmacies, parks and bus station.
The closest airport to the property is situated at Lisbon, which is
