The ruin, which measures 108 square metres of construction, is set over two floors and is in a very dilapidated condition. The cottage would require full planning consent to be reconstructed though has been a cottage in the past.

The property has some stone walls still remaining with large, stone carved window and door surrounds. The ruin is set over two floors and is not connected to either mains water or electricity, though these are present in the hamlet. The ruin is set on a plot of land measuring 662 square metres. The majority of this land is relatively flat and there are country views. The property has two large, mature olive trees.

There are neighbouring properties on either side of the ruin, though the garden to the rear is relatively quiet. The property due to it's urban designation could be restored though planning permission would need to be sought from the relevant authorities.

The property is situated in the small hamlet of Carvalhal, which is a collection of houses. The closest town to the property is situated at Serta, which is around 10 minutes drive. Serta has a range of shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, school, builders' merchants, supermarkets, pharmacy, health centre, council offices and parks. The property is easy to access and has good links to the IC8 dual carriageway which provides easy transit to the Silver Coast.

The closest airport to the property is situated at Porto, which is around two hours by car. Porto airport is serviced by a variety of low cost airlines, which operate regular flights into and out of the United Kingdom and other European countries.
