An historic five
bedroom detached manor house with 9,000 square metres of land for
sale near Torres Novas in central Portugal. The property is situated
within a quiet village and is within walking distance of all
amenities.
The property has
many original features including internal wooden shutters, stone
window and door surrounds, ceramic tiled floors and vaulted wooden
ceilings. The property is in reasonably good condition though does
need some modernisation work carrying out.
The manor house is
set over one floor though the adjacent barn and storage buildings
are set over two floors. The property has wooden framed windows and
doors and has internal wooden shutters as well as exterior wooden
shutters, all of which are in good condition.
The main entrance to
the manor house is via a set of double opening wooden panelled
doors. These lead into a vestibule which has a ceramic tiled floor
and panelled wood ceiling. Off this entrance hallway there are three
sets of double opening wooden doors, all of which have glazed panels
above.
One of these
doorways leads into a living room. The living room has a wooden
floor and wood panelled ceiling. The living room also has a second
set of double opening wooden doors which lead into a secondary
hallway, which runs the length of the manor house. The living room
also has a fireplace and an ante-room, utilised by the owners as a
dining room. This dining room has a wooden floor and ceiling.
There is a double
bedroom off the entrance hallway. This double bedroom has a hard
wood floor and a traditional vaulted ceiling in wood. There is a
fireplace with stone surround and the windows (two sets) have
internal and external wooden shutters.
There are two
further bedrooms accessed off the second hallway. Both of these
bedrooms have wooden floors and wood panelled ceilings. One of the
bedrooms also has a study room, which provides access to the bedroom
via an archway. The study room also has wooden floors and ceilings.
There is a modern
style bathroom, which is partially tiled. The bathroom has a bath
with shower above, toilet, bidet and pedestal basin and reflects the
age of the property as well as the features.
The property's
kitchen has a ceramic tiled floor and a large, traditional fireplace
in situ. The ceiling has wooden beams. The kitchen has some built
in modern style units, though the kitchen would benefit from
modernisation works.
There is a second
entrance off the hallway, which leads to the rear courtyard of the
property via a set of double opening wooden doors, complete with
original locking mechanism.
There is a
traditional style adega (wine store) accessed off the hallway, which
has been renovated and turned into a second dining room. This adega
has a tiled floor and wooden beamed ceiling and retains the original
water storage tank. This room also has an exterior access door which
leads out to the property's private courtyard at the rear.
The manor house
comes with a large, two storey barn, which can be accessed
internally from the manor house via a set of double opening, part
glazed wooden doors.
The barn is set over
two floors and is plumbed with electricity and mains water. The
first floor of the barn has been utilised by the current owners as
an entertainment room. The entertainment room has an open beamed
roof and is double aspect and has a wooden floor. Off the
entertainment room there are a further two bedrooms, both of which
have wooden floors and ceilings.
The entertainment
room also has an exterior access door which leads out to a private
terrace with views of the countryside and the gardens. There is also
an exterior staircase from the terrace, which leads down to the
courtyard and across a small 'bridge' within the courtyard to a
second, private covered terrace, shrouded by bougainvillea.
The ground floor of
the barn has a concrete floor and two sets of vehicle access doors.
One set of the access doors, wooden double height, lead out to the
side of the property and into the village, whereas the second leads
into a further storage building.
There is a large,
traditional fireplace in the ground floor of the barn and is an
ideal space for someone wishing to create a large entertainment
area. There is a wooden staircase leading to the first floor and to
the manor house interior.
In addition to the
barn there is also a single storey garage building and open sided
storage building behind both the manor house and the barn, which
could be converted into additional living or entertaining space
quite easily. |
