Do you want to escape from the pressures and stress of everyday life for a while? if so we offer a small but comfortable cottage adjacent to the owners house, with patio and flower gardens nestling amongst the grapevines and fresh air in the tranquil rural setting of the village of Vila Seca, close to Tabua in central Portugal. The patio to the front of the cottage has table and chairs where you may wish to eat al fresco while watching the village activities pass by or taking in the views which are especially beautiful at sunset. To the side of the cottage there is a flower garden with seating facilities where you can relax among tangerine, lemon and magnolia trees. Both bedrooms are fitted with double beds. The shower room has a toilet, bidet and vanity basin. The living room has a two seater sofa, two chairs and UK satellite television is installed. There is a good range of DVDS and books for guest to watch and read. The cottage comprises two bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen, lounge and shower room. There is a wood burning stove for winter visitors. Well behaved dogs welcome. The town of Tabua, which is two kilometres from the cottage, has three supermarkets, a post office and a good variety of local Portuguese restaurants, where you can enjoy a 3 course lunch with wine for 6.50 euros per person. Tabua has a LIDL store and two other supermarkets. There is also a Post office and a wide range of local family run shops providing all your needs. The town also has a new Medical Centre and pharmacy open 24 hours a day and an indoor / outdoor swimming pool. We can provide a English / Portuguese translation service for our guests who may be interested in buying property. The cottage is suitable for a young child and older but not a toddler. The cottage has a log wood burning stove, logs are supplied for a small charge. Level access from the road and level throughout. There is no swimming pool. The cottage has a patio to the front with table and chairs and a garden to the side with bench seat. There is also a lavender terrace with seating area.
Porto airport is 200 kilometres, around two hours drive whereas Lisbon airport is 280 kilometres (about three hours by car) from the cottage. The closest train station to the cottage is situated at Santa Comba Dao, which is around 10 kilometres by car. The town of Arganil is 20 kilometres from the cottage and the city of Coimbra, Portugal's third largest city, is 45 kilometres. For history lovers the Bucaco National Park is only 40 kilometres from the cottage with the Roman Ruins at Conimbriga being 50 kilometres. |
