The house is situated near the town of Vila
de Rei in Central Portugal. The town of Vila de Rei has cafe bars, restaurants, a supermarket, pharmacy and health centre.
The larger town of Abrantes,
which has builders merchants, wood yards, supermarkets, a hospital, shops, cafe bars and restaurants, is
approximately 20 minutes away.
The historic town of
Tomar, which is home
to the UNESCO listed Convento do Cristo, is approximately ten to 25
minutes drive by car. Tomar is a popular bustling town with several
supermarkets, shops, boutiques, cinema, builders merchants, schools,
university, art galleries, municipal swimming pools and sports centres.
Tomar hosts a weekly market every Friday which is popular with both
locals and tourists alike.
Castelo do Bode lake, Portugal's second
largest reservoir, is around a ten minute drive from the property.
Castelo do Bode is popular for all kinds of water sport activities
including sailing, swimming, canoeing, scuba diving, fishing and water
skiing.
The closest airport to the property is
situated at Lisbon, which is approximately one and a half hours' drive
by car. Lisbon airport is serviced by several low cost airlines which
operate flights into and out of the United Kingdom.
